Bai Euskarari Ziurtagiria jaso du gaur Batz Sozietate Kooperatiboak. Gainera agiria Arratiako hainbat enpresen aurrean egindako ekitaldian jaso du Batzek. Bai Euskarari Ziurtagiriaren arduradunak, Rober Gutiérrezek, eman dio Ziurtagiria Batzen lehendakaria den Jose Luis Madariagari. Batz inguruko enpresentzat eredua izan da euskararen normalizazioan konpromiso sendoa hartu duelako.
"Lan mundua euskalduntzeko eredutzat hartu behar dugu Batz kooperatibak hartutako konpromisoa", aitortu du Bai Euskarari Ziurtagiriaren arduradunak. Izan ere, Arratia bailarako enpresei euskara lan munduan zabaltzeko erantzukizuna hartzeko gonbita luzatu die Rober Gutiérrezek. Frank Zappa, ¿Un visionario?
A PROPOSAL FOR A SYSTEM TO REPLACE
ORDINARY RECORD MERCHANDISING

Ordinary phonograph record merchandising as it exists today is a stupid process which concerns itself essentially with pieces of plastic, wrapped in pieces of cardboard.
These objects, in quantity, are heavy and expensive to ship. The manufacturing process is complicated and crude. Quality control for the stamping of the discs is an exercise in futility. The system is subject to pilferage (as, in some instances, pressing 'over-runs' have been initiated, with the quantity pressed above the amount of the legitimate order removed from the premises and sold on the black market).
Dissatisfied customers routinely return records because they are warped and will not play.
Large numbers of people are employed in the field of 'record promotion' . . . these salaries are, for the most part, a waste of money.
New digital technology may eventually solve the warpage problem and provide the consumer with better quality sound in the form of Compact Discs [C.D.'s]. They are smaller, contain more music, and would, presumably cost less to ship . . . but, they are much more expensive to buy and manufacture. To reproduce them, the consumer needs to purchase a digital device to replace his old hi-fi equipment (in the $700 price range).
The bulk of the promotional effort at every record company today is expended on "NEW MATERIAL" . . . the latest and the greatest of whatever the cocaine-tweezed A&R Brass has decided to inflict on everybody. More often than not, these 'aesthetic decisions' result in mountains of useless vinyl/cardboard artifacts which cannot be sold at any price, and are therefore returned for disposal and recycling. These mistakes are expensive.
Put aside momentarily the current method of operation and think what is being wasted in terms of GREAT CATALOG ITEMS, squeezed out of the market place because of limited rack space in retail outlets, and the insatiable desire of quota-conscious company reps to fill every available niche with THIS WEEK'S NEW RELEASES.
Every major record company has vaults full of (and perpetual rights to) great recording by major artists in many categories which might still provide enjoyment to music consumers if they were made available in the right way. MUSIC CONSUMERS LIKE TO CONSUME MUSIC . . . NOT PIECES OF VINYL WRAPPED IN PIECES OF CARDBOARD.
It is our proposal to take advantage of the POSITIVE ASPECTS of a NEGATIVE TREND afflicting the record industry today: HOME TAPING via cassette of material released on vinyl.
First of all, we must realize that the taping of albums is not motivated by 'stinginess' alone . . . if a consumer makes a home tape from a disc, that copy will probably sound better than a commercially manufactured high-speed dupe cassette, legitimately released by the company.
People today enjoy music more than ever before, and, they like to take it with them wherever they go. THEY CAN HEAR THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD AUDIO AND BAD AUDIO . . . THEY CARE ABOUT THAT DIFFERENCE, AND THEY ARE WILLING TO GO TO SOME TROUBLE AND EXPENSE TO HAVE HIGH QUALITY 'PORTABLE AUDIO' TO USE AS 'WALLPAPER FOR THEIR LIFESTYLE'.
THE ANSWERS TO PERPLEXING QUESTIONS
presenting: "Q.C.I."
We propose to acquire the rights to digitally duplicate and store THE BEST of every record company's difficult-to-move Quality Catalog Items [Q.C.I.], store them in a central processing location, and have them accessible by phone or cable TV, directly patchable into the user's home taping appliances, with the option of direct digital-to-digital transfer to F-1 (SONY consumer level digital tape encoder), Beta Hi-Fi, or ordinary analog cassette (requiring the installation of a rentable D-A converter in the phone itself . . . the main chip is about $12).
All accounting for royalty payments, billing to the customer, etc. would be automatic, built into the initial software for the system.
The consumer has the option of subscribing to one or more Interest Categories, charged at a monthly rate, without regard for the quantity of music he or she decides to tape.
Providing material in such quantity at a reduced cost could actually diminish the desire to duplicate and store it, since it would be available any time day or night.
Monthly listings could be provided by catalog, reducing the on-line storage requirements of the computer. The entire service would be accessed by phone, even if the local reception is via TV cable.
The advantage of the TV cable is: on those channels where nothing ever seems to happen (there's about 70 of them in L.A.), a visualization of the original cover art, including song lyrics, technical data, etc., could be displayed while the transmission is in progress, giving the project an electronic whiff of the original point-of-purchase merchandising built into the album when it was 'an album', since there are many consumers who like to fondle & fetish the packaging while the music is being played. In this situation, Fondlement & Fetishism Potential [F.F.P.] is supplied, without the cost of shipping tons of cardboard around.
We require a LARGE quantity of money and the services of a team of mega-hackers to write the software for this system. Most of the hardware devices are, even as you read this, available as off-the-shelf items, just waiting to be plugged into each other so they can put an end to "THE RECORD BUSINESS" as we now know it.

El edificio 47 de Google acoge un restaurante de pinchos
El establecimiento se llama Café Pintxo, está en una sede de Google en California y ofrece tapas típicas en Euskal Herria.
Lleva siete años de veteranía en la compañía Google, y la ingeniera Jen Fitzpatrick ha desarrollado un paladar más sofisticado, por lo que su comida preferida está en la barra de mariscos crudos en el Café Pintxo. El establecimiento es un restaurante de tapas con temática vasca, situado en el edificio 47 de la sede de Google en Mountain View (California), y una de las 11 cafeterías gourmet que esa compañía administra.
Por supuesto, en la mejor compañía para trabajar de Estados Unidos, la comida es sólo el principio. En Google uno puede lavar su ropa, dejar la ropa en la tintorería, pedir que le cambien el aceite a su auto, luego que lo laven, hacer ejercicio en el gimnasio; asistir a clases de ejercicio subsidiadas; recibir un masaje; estudiar mandarín, japonés, español y francés, y pedirle a un asistente personal que haga reservas para la cena. Además, puede cortarse el cabello en las instalaciones de la compañía.
El trabajo es un lugar tan acogedor que a veces es difícil para los empleados de Google irse de la oficina, y con esa razón es precisamente con la que la compañía justifica los gastos.

El alcalde de la capital, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, presentó ante los medios la primera edición de este festival y compareció, posteriormente, en la sesión de fotos que tenía prevista realizar en solitario el actor estadounidense. La compañía mundial ha concedido un encargo de 190 millones de euros a esta empresa de Igorre para el sexenio 2007-2012.
La cooperativa vizcaína Batz, del grupo MCC, ha obtenido de General Motors un pedido con carácter mundial y exclusivo para el periodo 2007-2012, por un valor superior a los 190 millones de euros y una facturación anual de 32 millones. Este pedido, enmarcado en el proyecto Epsilon de General Motors, exigirá a Batz una inversión de 30 millones para la construcción de tres plantas productivas en México, Chequia y China y la puesta en marcha de una joint-venture en Corea.
En un comunicado, MCC, corporación en la que se integra la cooperativa, ha explicado que Batz suministrará, en exclusiva y a escala global, el módulo de pedales y la palanca de freno de estacionamiento para varios modelos de General Motors/Opel, que irán montados sobre la plataforma Epsilon (Vectra), equipando vehículos de las marcas Saab, Opel, Chevrolet, Daewoo y General Motors.
Batz dispone de patentes propias que le han permitido desarrollar un sistema de seguridad pasiva en el módulo de pedales que, en caso de colisión, se desmontan automáticamente evitando daños al conductor. Con relación a la palanca de freno, la cooperativa cuenta con otra patente para el sistema de autotensado del cable, que mantiene en todo momento la tensión adecuada, con una eficiencia óptima.
Para desarrollar este pedido, Batz deberá crear filiales productivas en México, República Checa y China, además de una joint-venture en Corea.

Decepción
Ya tenemos comunicado de ETA, nada de autocrítica, toda la culpa es de los demás, que raro, eso si, mantienen el alto el fuego permanente, total que son 500 kilos de explosivo? y con derecho a responder, igual es que el día que explicaron el significado de permanente no fueron a clase y en el colmo del cinísmo se solidarizan con las victimas y sus familias y amigos. Why Most Artists Profit from Piracy
Piracy is not all that bad for musicians. In fact, research has shown that less popular artists actually profit from piracy. This can be concluded from, and is supported by several studies. Frustrated as they are, the music industry claims that they lose millions a year due to piracy, but is this really the case? Album sales are declining. 75% of all artists profit from filesharing.
Music from highly popular artists is widely available on filesharing networks. If pirates mainly download albums from these artists, they will have more money left to buy albums of less popular artists. People have the opportunity to discover new music for free. It is thus easier to find new, and less popular artists. It is likely that people will buy albums from these artists as well if they like what they hear. It is not only piracy that makes it easier to discover new artists, social music services like Last.fm and Pandora also contribute to this phenomenon. The rise in income from concerts shows that the interest in music is increasing instead of declining.
Two facts:
We will try to explain these two seemingly contradicting facts, and list three factors that may help us understand what’s going on…
Artists sell more albums thanks to piracy
Several studies have shown that most artists actually profit from unauthorized sharing of files. They sell more albums because people have the opportunity to download songs and entire albums for free. A study by Blackburn (2004), a PhD student from Harvard, found that the 75% of the artist actually profit from piracy. Blackburn reports that the most popular artist (top 25%) sell less records. However, the remaining 75% of all artists actually profit from filesharing. The same pattern was found by Pedersen (2006, see graph), who analyzed the change in royalties paid by the Nordisk Copyright Bureau between 2001 and 2005.
But why do these artists sell more? Well, there are a couple of possible explanations.
LPs, CDs, DVDs and MP3s
The increased album sales in the late 90’s may very well have been caused, at least in part, by the shift from cassettes and LPs to CDs (and not just piracy!). CD players were getting more and more popular and a lot of people were exchanging their LP collections for CD collections. After 2000, CDs were not that special anymore, and the number of albums sold normalized (see graph below). It’s also likely that the decline in CD sales was influenced by the increased popularity of DVDs and MP3s.
This argument is also mentioned in a research paper by Hong (2004):
The results indicate that transition from LPs to CDs might describe the increase in music sales during the 1990’s.
And in a report from Pedersen (2006):
the period 1995-2000 represents a truly unique situation in the modern history of Danish record sales and 10 million units sold in 2004 is more likely a return to regular conditions than a sign of crisis.
This graph plots the number of albums sold in Denmark, and shows that the decline in sales after 2000 is not that special, but the uprise in the late 90’s is (Source: Pedersen, 2006).
The Internet is changing the way people experience music
Like we mentioned before, the Internet opened up a ton of possibilities for people to discover new artists and music. Not only illegal downloads, but also legal downloads, or paid downloads with the possibility to preview songs make it easier to discover new artists.
Social communities, and music services like Last.fm and Pandora also play a big role in the evolution of our music experience. Before the Internet, people had only a few possibilities to discover new music. Friends, radio stations and record stores are three of them, where the last two are in part sponsored by the marketing campaigns of the music industry. Today people are less dependent on what the music industry is campaigning for.
Wait a minute… the music industry and the RIAA always say that they are losing huge amounts of money because of filesharing. Isn’t this true?
Well, the fact is that there are less albums sold in total compared to some of the years when album sales were booming. However, it is hard to attribute this decline in sales to piracy (alone). From the research that has been done on this topic we can conclude that the effect of piracy on the music industry’s lost income lies somewhere between 0 and 30% (of the decline in sales, not of the sales in total). Pollock (2006) gives a comprehensive overview of these studies and concludes:
The basic result is that online illegal file-sharing probably has some negative impact on traditional sales but the effect is appears to be quite small. The size of this effect is debated, and ranges from 0 to 100% of the sales decline in recent years, but a figure of between 0 and 30% would be a reasonable consensus value (i.e. that file-sharing accounted for 0-30% of the decline in sales not a 0-30% decline in sales). At the same time there is still substantial disagreement in the literature with the most impressive paper to date (Oberholzer and Strumpf 2005) estimating no impact from file-sharing.
One of the things we can be pretty sure of is that the music industry is starting to lose control over their customers. A great deal of their income was generated by overly promoted albums and artists. It are those artists and albums that suffer the most from piracy. It gets harder and harder for the music industry to market artists to the top position of the charts now the customers heva all kinds of alternative ways to discover new music.
In conclusion we could say that music is more alive than ever before, that piracy is a tool to build a fanbase, and that the times when the music industry could dictate what we were listening to are over.
And that’s a good thing…

Ni por llevar explosivos en la suela de los zapatos, ni por transportar líquidos en el equipaje de mano. El último incidente aereo ha tenido como protagonista algo tan "natural" como los gases, flatulencias, pedos,… o como queramos llamarlos.
La psicosis aeronáutica de los estadounidenses está tan extendida que ha llegado a influir en algo tan puramente fisiológico como lo es deponer tranquilamente, aunque sea en los angostos cubículos de los aviones.
El caso es real: un inoportuno ataque de flatulencias y el pudor de la pasajera que lo sufrió ha obligado a un avión de American Airlines a aterrizar de emergencia en el aeropuerto de Nashville (Tennessee).
Varios pasajeros del avión, que volaba de Washington a Dallas (Texas), comenzaron a sentir olor a fósforos quemados y se desató la alarma, por lo que el piloto decidió aterrizar en Nashville.
Los 99 pasajeros y los cinco miembros de la tripulación fueron desalojados del avión, al igual que todo el equipaje, para hacer una inspección, en la que los perros de la policía detectaron los fósforos quemados dentro del aparato.
Tras interrogar a una pasajera, esta reconoció haber encendido las cerillas para ocultar el hedor de sus flatulencias y que aseguró tener problemas médicos.
El vuelo despegó de nuevo, pero dejó a la mujer en tierra.
El FBI y la Administración de Seguridad en Transportes han intervenido en la "emergencia" y la compañía American Airlines ha prohibido a la mujer volver a volar con la aerolínea "durante mucho tiempo".

Por fin el Athletic ganó en San Mamés, 4-2 al Recre, revelación de la temporada. Dos golazos de Urzaiz más dos ayuditas del Recre y la cagada habitual de Sarriegi, que cada vez que mete gol en propia meta gana el Athletic.

Orbaiz adios a la temporada
Pablo Orbaiz dice adios a la temporada, fué la parte más negativa del partido de ayer donde el athletic dió una buena imagen. Espero que los dirigentes del club reaccionen rápido y no se les ocurra cargar a Murillo con el curro de Orbaiz.

Leido en meneame. Se inicia la campaña 1 euro para espe para intentar ayudar a Esperanza Aguirre, presidenta de la Comunidad de Madrid, tras afirmar en su biografía que "no llega a fin de mes", a pesar de cobrar más de 100.000 euros anuales, más que Zapatero incluso.

Via Enrique Dans llego a este artículo del Chicago Sun-Times, donde "destroza" al nuevo iPod Killer de Microsoft. Pra muestra un botón:

Ropa interior con filtro para pedos
La ropa interior Under-Ease ofrece protección de los gases humanos malolientes. […] En la parte posterior de la ropa interior, cerca del fondo, se ha cortado un agujero triangular que permite la salida del flato. Sobre este agujero de salida se ha cosido un bolsillo de tela porosa ordinaria. Gracias a este diseño exclusivo, todos los gases (flato) salen por el bolsillo.
El bolsillo contiene un filtro reemplazable de alto rendimiento, que constituye el elemento central de este diseño. Este filtro multicapa se compone de dos capas externas de lana de borrego. Las siguientes dos capas están hechas de materiales no tejidos de polipropileno y lana de vidrio. La capa central del filtro es de carbón activado.
El filtro está recubierto de material suave y ordinario que facilita su cambio, tanto dentro como fuera del bolsillo. La ropa interior se puede lavar y puede durar hasta un año, dependiendo de la frecuencia de uso y de lavado. Ayer hicimos la despedida de Lutxo en el alemán Ein Prosit que mañana vuelve a Guayaquil (Ecuador) después de estar casi un año con nosotros. Le regalamos la camiseta del Athletic para ver si se hace un poco de cantera por ahí, que la de aquí parece agotada. Sorte on Lutxo!!

Una rusa se bebe 5.000 litros de coca-cola y demanda a la compañía

La mujer que ingirió tres litros diarios del famoso refresco durante cinco años, sufre ahora insomnio y ardor de estómago, por lo que ha decidido demandar a la compañía por "hacerla enfermar".
En Rusia, una mujer que bebió cerca de 5.000 litros de Coca Cola le entabló una demanda a la compañía por "hacerla enfermar".
Se trata de Natalya Kashuba, dueña de un negocio de ropa, quien ingirió hasta tres litros diarios del famoso refresco durante cinco años, sufriendo insomnio y ardor de estómago desde entonces. Kashuba asegura que su adicción a la oscura bebida es resultado de una promoción donde los consumidores cambiaban las tapitas por premios.
Su abogado, Alexey Monakhov, piensa utilizar como evidencia las docenas de radios y colchones inflables que la mujer ganó. Además, destacó que "en octubre de 2005, como resultado de un examen de su gastroenterólogo, ella fue diagnosticada de una condición crónica cuyo síntoma principal es la acidez estomacal".
Dos cortes rusas aceptaron el argumento de que Coca Cola no advirtió suficientemente sobre los potenciales riesgos sobre la salud que provoca tomar mucho refresco y la firma indemnizó a la querellante en 118 dólares, aunque ella pide 112 mil dolares por "daños morales".
